چکیده

The wound healing potential of the aerial parts Hypericum triquetrifolium Turra (Hypericaceae) was evaluated using an in vivo excision model rats. Adult male Sprague Dawley rats were randomly assigned into seven groups; blank vehicles (olive oil and petroleum jelly), negative control, treatments [H. ethanolic extract jelly (5% 10%) H. olive macerate (100 200 g/L)], positive control (MEBO). Treatments applied topically once daily until wounds had completely healed. Wound areas contraction rates calculated, full-thickness samples healed skin collected for histopathological examination. ointment (5%) showed best activity with statistically significant differences when compared MEBO, jelly, groups. Tissue sections histopathologically examined terms re-epithelialization, granulation tissue development, collagen deposition, inflammatory cell infiltration, angiogenesis, ulcer formation to support findings. scores both re-epithelialization formation. For quality purposes, a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method used quantify key marker compounds extract, namely hypericin rutin which content 0.64% 4.46% (w/w), respectively. Based on experimental results, exhibits remarkable properties at various stages process. Further investigations prove its safety efficacy different types uncover cellular mechanisms are warranted.
